The area of the park was defined as a conservation area in 1981. However, the Prosa State Park was only created in 2002. The mission of the green zone is to preserve the unique flora and fauna of the Cerrado ecosystem and the landscape and cultural heritage of the region.

The park has several ecological trails that you can walk in the company of an accredited guide. The main trail leads to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. During the trip, the specialist will tell you about local plants and animals.
