The Lago Potrero de los Funes in San Luis

Lago Potrero de Los Fune Lake is located in Sierra de San Luis Valley. The valley is surrounded by mountain ranges. It has gorges, waterfalls, and streams. Lago Potrero de Los Funes is one of South America's oldest artificial reservoirs. For the first time, people built a dam on the Potrero River in 1860, but it was soon destroyed by the bad weather. The dam was restored in 1876 and reconstructed in 1927. Thus, the reservoir of Potrero de Los Funes appeared. 

Here, you can go canoeing, ride horses along streams and gorges, go on camping with family members to enjoy nature, or have a barbecue. You can also go fishing - the lake is inhabited by several fish species.

There are some natural sights around the lake. For example, Salta de la Moneda is a beautiful waterfall lost in the forests. There, you can see a large number of huge ferns.
