This cold dessert is suitable even for people on a diet. The American Ice Cream Museum in San Francisco is a place where you lose weight by jumping into the pool, rolling off a mountain, passing through the jungle. And after that, you can take a suitcase with a hundred types of delicacy with you.
The museum occupies an old spacious bank building with high ceilings. The exposition is divided into several thematic zones that you need to visit in a specific order. A series of mini-events, including trying free sweets, awaits you to maintain the necessary energy levels for your journey.
The first challenge on the way is the pool with the rain of sprinkles. It might be one of the most recognizable exhibits of the museum. Do not worry; the confetti is made of plastic. Feel free to jump into the sea of sweets. This is even funnier than a ball pool. Confetti gets stuck in hair or clothes, so you can take a shower with blowers that remove all the remains.
After a swim, the Mint Jungle awaits you. The highlight of this area is the free Mochi ice cream with mint and chips for all guests. In a room with three-meter-long leaves, trunks of palm trees, monkeys, parrots, and boas, you can enjoy a treat and listen to fun pop music.
The next space is known by an exhibit and the queues to it. People do not deny themselves a pleasure to take a picture with a huge rainbow. This area also has a corner with mirrors of various shapes and a unicorn statue you can ride on.
The creators seem to borrow the idea for the next room from the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Cookie Carousel and Sticky Garden will remain in your memory for a long time. This is one of the most interactive spaces. Everyone can ride on a carousel with gingerbread, donuts, and cookies instead of horses. You push the button, and the figure starts swaying from side to side. Next to it, there is a Sticky Garden. You can even get lost among the thickets of coloured ice cream of various sizes and shapes. After a walk and a ride on the carousel, you may enjoy a free dessert, coconut ice cream with cream.
In the Cherry Clouds area, you have an opportunity to taste cotton candy and take pictures with three-meter cherries.
The next zone immerses you in the 50s. In a room with a retro jukebox and seating area, you can try free strawberry sorbet.
You can visit the museum from Monday to Thursday from 12 am to 7 pm. On Saturday and Sunday - from 9 am to 8 pm. The entrance ticket costs 38 dollars .
