A walk along the promenade of Paseo Del Rio is a must-do activity if you are a guest of San Antonio. These are walking paths with a total length of 25 meters with shops, restaurants, and other attractions.

The history of the river embankment is long. It was built even before the tragic flood on the San Antonio River in 1921. 50 people died in it. After such a disaster, it was decided to erect a construction controlling the river level. So, people established the embankment. Walking paths are located one level below the city.

What you can do during this walk? Shopping, visiting museums, or riding a boat. Everyone finds something interesting to him.

One of the most popular attractions is traveling down the river. You have some options, from a river taxi, taking you from one part of the city to another, to guided tours and floating restaurants.

Taste local food at the waterfront restaurants. They are decorated with colorful umbrellas, garlands, flowers, and thematic signs. The most famous restaurants are the oldest Casa Rio and Justina Ice Cream Cafe, famous for its desserts throughout the state.

If you love shopping, you can spend several hours walking along the San Antonio River. There are several shopping centers and shops. The best known is the Rivercenter Mall. Shops are located around the River alley, known as the Rivercenter Lagoon. More than 100 chain and local retail stores are located on four floors. There are theaters and restaurants.

Another popular shopping site is the art village of La Villita. It includes several art galleries, souvenirs, handicrafts, and folk art shops.

Witte Museum, San Antonio Museum of Art, Zoo, and Pearl Brewery are also interesting sights of this embankment. You also need to visit Brackenridge Park with a golf course and a Japanese tea garden. For amateurs of theater, there is a unique place - the Aztec Theater.
