Imagine a huge zoo where you can play, meet the world of wildlife, and interact with animals. Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is the place. It is home to two thousand animals from all over the world: Africa, Asia, Europe, South and North America. Here, a herd of Asian elephants is adjacent to monkeys and dolphins. Instead of enclosures here are gardens, mountains, and waterfalls. You cannot just look at animals but also feed them, communicate with them, ride boats, swim in pools, climb mountains.

Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is a big wildlife encyclopedia. Here are several thematic sites. Moving from one zone to another, you seem to turn over the pages of a textbook. You meet animals and plants of various regions. A space of 96 football fields is a miniature of planet Earth.

A herd of Asian elephants lives on the site “Expedition to Asia”. The modern exposition includes three open spaces, swimming pools, a waterfall, shadowy constructions, a "house" with facilities, and a boardwalk, where animals rest and “sunbathe”.

“Zoo for children” is a place where children can explore the world and play, communicating with animals. There are flamingos, lorikeets, goats, monkeys, and a game stream.

The “Forest of Cats” shelters almost all big and small representatives of this species, including African lions, tigers, and snow leopards. More than 4000 plants grow on the territory. So, owing to them, botanists could reproduce the usual habitat for animals.

“Oklahoma Paths” tells everything about local nature. Black bears, alligators, bison, beavers, and more than twenty species of snakes live here. And in a specially equipped place, there are bats, skunks, and owls.

In the Zoo, you can also see the “Butterfly Garden”, gorillas, orangutans, more than 500 water creatures, including California sea lions, Galápagos turtles, and dolphins. Besides, there are island lizards and Caribbean flamingos.

Other sights also attract. Safari boats, giraffe feeding platform, safari tram, a carousel of endangered species, sea lion shows, jungle sports ground, northeast lake, and Lincoln Park golf course.

The zoo is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The ticket costs $ 11. It is located in the tourist area of Oklahoma City on I-35 and I-44.

Address: OK 73111, located at cross roads of I-35 and I-44
