Rodeo Drive is the most famous, expensive, and prestigious street in Los Angeles and in the whole world. Just over 3 kilometers long Rodeo Drive begins at the intersection with Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills and ends at the intersection with Beverly Drive in Los Angeles. It is interesting that when you hear about Rodeo Drive, it is often not about the entire street, but only about a small section located over three blocks – from Wilshire Boulevard to Little Santa Monica Boulevard. This section of the famous Rodeo Drive is known for its boutiques that offer luxury items to sophisticated buyers. This part of the street is the main attraction and is called the «Golden Triangle». Walking between Little Santa Monica and Wilshire boulevards you will certainly meet luxury boutiques of all the most famous and expensive brands in the world: Channel, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Prada, Yves Saint-Laurent, and many others.
In the early 2000s, the authorities of Beverly Hills conducted a program to improve the «Golden Triangle» area, which attracts a large number of tourists. As a part of this program, the city authorities, together with the Rodeo Drive Committee, founded the «Walk of Style» in 2003. Fred Heyman, who is called the «Father of Rodeo Drive», also participated in the development of this project. On the sidewalk of this alley, there are memorial bronze plaques in memory of people who made a great contribution to the development of fashion, design, and costume. More than 20 people have already been honored, including such famous personalities as Giorgio Armani (the first winner of the award), Tom Ford, Salvatore Ferragamo, Manolo Blahnik, Gianni and Donatella Versace, and Valentino Garavani. At the southern end of the Walk of Style, there is its symbol — the Robert Graham «Torso» sculpture which was designed specifically for the Walk of Style and was opened in 2003 during the founding ceremony. It is interesting that all the winners of the Walk of Style, except the memorial plaque, receive a mini-version of the sculpture «Torso» sculpture as an award.
