The very sight of it takes your breath away! Multicolored, huge, bizarre shapes rise from the ground for tens of meters! There are dozens of them! Just a few meters of fabric, a basket, heated air or gas, and even the skill of the pilots... But all this together makes a miracle! What a delight these giants can cause. If you want to see this magic, come to Albuquerque. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is held there every October.
The best balloonists in the world compete in the air over the American city of Albuquerque for nine days. Crowds of tourists gather around the take-off area in the early autumn morning. Their eyes are fixed on the sky. And there are birds, animals, cartoon characters, bright multicolored inverted drops with outlandish patterns.
You can not only see balloons against the beautiful blue sky of Albuquerque but also follow the quick, honed actions of the team. They quickly deploy the dome, fasten the slings, turn on the gas.
Despite the colorfulness of this event, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a sporting event. Teams compete in different tasks. Some tasks are named after famous balloon pilots. For example, the Gordon Bennett memorial exercise.
Bright, magical balloons are the main, but not the only part of the festival. You can have fun, cheer up and get positive emotions as well as expand your horizons in the field of aeronautics. Former NASA astronauts, scientists, former aeronauts conduct seminars and lectures in between competitions.
There is also a special attraction - the F-15 cockpit simulator. You can imagine yourself as a real pilot.
Of course, all tourists leave with photos: in addition to simple selfies against the background of balloons, you can take pictures in a special photo kiosk and get into space.
