A favorite expression of the inhabitants of Reynosa until recently was "There is no place here". Everyone said it: from young to old, from lovers of relaxed outdoor recreation to athletes or just people who lead an active lifestyle. But everything changed dramatically when in 2010 the Reynosa Cultural Park was built on the territory of the city. The long-awaited opening took place on August 17. Since then, the city park has attracted hundreds of visitors every day, including both locals and curious tourists from all over the world. Thus, the opening of a green zone in Reynosa was one of the most successful investments of the state government.

The creation of an urban oasis as a venue for various national and international cultural events was first discussed in 2005. Three years later, it was decided to create such a place around the natural lagoon "La Escondida" to promote culture and to be able to relax and enjoy the flora and fauna of these places. In 2009, the official presentation of this project was held, and the foundation stone of the Center for Arts and Culture was laid.

Today, Reynosa Park is a huge infrastructure on an area of 40 hectares with its own parking for 400 cars. It is open daily from morning to evening and is completely free of charge.

The main goal of creating this space was to promote the cultural activities of the region. So the Center for Art and Culture was built on the territory of the park. It consists of two main halls - the main and experimental theaters.

The first is designed for more than a thousand spectators. Thanks to its stunning acoustics and lighting, it is an ideal venue for all cultural events, whether it be a concert, a movie, a performance, or even an opera.

The experimental theater with a capacity of up to 300 people is intended for performances requiring greater intimacy between the actor and the audience. A distinctive feature of this space is its ability to change the size and position of the stage through the use of the most modern technologies.
