Here, in 1998, Museo Sol del Niño opened its doors. Though its name is quite funny, it is a true interactive center for science and technology, culture, and environmental protection. The museum is located next to the largest and oldest park of Mexicali “Vicente Guerrero” and the State Theater. The main building, “La Jabonera del Pacífico”, was built in 1925. Earlier, it was the storage of cotton seeds. The National Institute of Anthropology and History called it the cultural and historical heritage of the country. Now, it is under the protection of the state.

Museo Sol del Niño holds various entertaining and educational events, which are very popular. In the first year, more than 300 thousand people visited the museum. And since its opening, the number of visitors is more than 5 million.
