House-Museum «Casa de Morelos»

 Welcome home! To the house of the famous revolutionary in Mexico who gave his life for the country - Casa de Morelos. Every time you wonder how much Mexican are proud of their independence. The house where Jose Maria Morelos lived is a museum dedicated to the hero himself and the history of the rebellion. 

Walking through rooms, examining the things of the Morelos family, you imagine how Jose Maria sat in this chair in the evenings, and people discussed the latest news at the kitchen table. So, you see how life flourished in the house. You feel the revolutionary spirit of a simple priest loving his country.

The tour may be too long. Remember, sorting your things, you could suddenly see an album with old photographs. It may take hours to view it. This place looks like this album. In the house of Morelos, are a lot of their artifacts in 9 rooms.

The first floor is dedicated to the establishment of the city and life in it. You can learn a lot about the life of Don Jose, his revolutionary activity, and how he led the life of a priest. The second floor tells about the uprising. The civil war, the passionate desire of Mexicans to be free and independent. This struggle feels in every subject.

The story of Morelos is not everything you can learn visiting it. Here is also an exposition of historical museums and galleries. For example, a very interesting exhibit is keeping there – a picture painted in the 18th century by Bishop Pedro Anselmo Sanchez de Tagle. His work is highly respected in Mexico.

The last room in the house is dedicated to the last minutes of Morelos's life. It depicts everything happened from the moment of his imprisonment until the execution.
