The MacBride Museum of Yukon History is an exhibition about the territory and periods of the history of the city of Whitehorse.

The decision to establish the museum was made in 1950 by the Yukon Historical Society, an initiative group for the preservation of the region's historical heritage.

Among the museum's cofounders was William MacBride, an employee of the Canadian-American White Pass & Yukon Route Company. A team of like-minded people started collecting things related to historical moments. MacBride added vehicles from the transport sector to the collection: abandoned or outdated equipment became part of the museum's collection. Access to the collections was opened to the public in 1952. The museum was named after MacBride.

At first, the museum building was a log house on the river bank. The exhibits show all stages of Yukon development and important moments of history: indigenous peoples, Gold Rush, Royal Canadian Mounted Police…

Today, the museum houses thousands of exhibits illustrating different areas of life and professional spheres of the region. Among the most valuable exhibits are an old log cabin typical of this region, an old locomotive from the White Pass & Yukon Route Company, manuscripts by local poet Robert Service, a 1900 Telegraph, old books, and photographs. Visitors can feel like a gold miner and test their skills in gold washing, learn the features of the traditional historical profession of Yukon.
