It looks like an independent manor, but almost all the sights of Bermuda are related to the Southland’s Manor in Warwick Parish. On 37 acres, there are located a nice ancient house and a gorgeous park. It is hard to examine it in one day, but do not be in a hurry. You can walk along the park and enjoy nature. The complex includes a house which is a historical monument, a garden, swimming pools, a private beach, a small forest, and even a limestone quarry. People used to take this limestone for the construction of houses in Hamilton.
It is nice when good and interesting people ameliorate the places around. Before James Morgan, the estate had many owners, but this wealthy businessman made Southlands Manor so beautiful and large. He decided to improve the surroundings of the estate.
All the lovers of antiquity and architecture love the main house of the estate. It was built at the beginning of the 18th century. Previously, in this house lived people preferring modesty to luxury. These were priests. The estate, visible through the dense trees, looks like a fairytale castle hidden in the forest. Fountains and pools in the garden save from the blazing sun of Bermuda and refresh in the heat. If you feel very hot, you can get to a lonely beach in the manor.
James Morgan's work is seen. Even the road that goes to a local school is named in his honor. You can personally thank James Morgan for such a wonderful place. He died in 1992, so people built a mausoleum to a businessman and his wife on the estate's territory.
