The beauty of Bermuda impresses everyone. Beautiful trees and flowers, unusual shrubs – all it makes the island a paradise on earth.
In 1898, the island authorities decided to collect all the unique plants in one park. They wanted to show the plants to residents and guests and study them, preserving for future generations. So, this is how the first botanical garden appeared in Bermuda, the city of Paget.
The landscape park covers an area of about 35 acres. It is not so much, but the area is full of wonderful plants.
There is a unique collection of subtropical fruit trees and special varieties of hibiscus. Glass greenhouses with a constant temperature regime are built for cacti and orchids. The park is unique because “Aroma Garden” is established here. It is a small building where people with visual impairment can learn more about flowers and know how to identify them by smell. This is a good approach to each guest in this beautiful place.
Every day, everyone can come here and take a walk in the magnificent Botanical Garden. If you take food with you, you can have a nice picnic – there are equipped places in the garden where you can eat.
Around the park, there is one more interesting place. On one side of the Botanical Gardens, you can see fields of cacti and aloe, and close to it - large rose and herbal gardens. On the other side, a whole forest of Bermuda cedars and the Blue Garden, where plants with blue foliage are collected.
In the depths of the park, there is an enclosure with peacocks, welcoming guests by spreading their luxurious tails. In the western part, there is a butterfly farm, where you can see how butterflies are born and change throughout their lives.
