It all started with a small group of enthusiasts who could not imagine the sky without planes, and their lives without them. And over time, their favorite hobby turned into a huge Midland Air Museum.

Modern Boeing will not surprise anyone, because everyone is used to narrow chairs with small tables. But even in a normal plane, there is a sense of unforgettable adventure. And imagine what impressions you get from an airplane with a history? For example, a Vulcan or a MiG-21? Sit at the wheel, imagine yourself rushing through the air, and look to the right, left, and bottom, from all sides there are exploding shells! Unforgettable! But just standing next to this iron bird is an incredible feeling!

In 1967, a team of volunteers called the Midland Aircraft Preservation Society (MAPS) formed a small community. The volunteers were very fond of planes and everything related to them and began collecting books, photos, and airplane parts. But there was no place to display all these. For a very long time, the museum did not have its own building. To reveal themselves and save some money for their building, the guys went to air shows and showed their exhibits.

So a few years later, they were able to buy a small piece of land from Coventry airport. This small piece was enough to accommodate 5 planes and 67 first spectators in 1978. Flying in the sky "landed" on solid ground.

RAF meteors, Britain's first jet fighter, night fighter, rolls Royce turbojets...the company of sky-loving enthusiasts have been developing and increasing the museum's collection. They even added simulators for pilots.

30 years ago, the museum moved to a large, spacious hangar, where it is now. The museum's collection contains a lot of aircraft that participated in military operations, but there are also relatively modern models. You can also find out how the man who invented the jet engine lived and worked.
