The kingdom of pristine nature surrounded by snowy peaks, fragrant coniferous forests, and the enchanting sounds of waterfalls, jingling mountain streams, and sweet, incomparable pure mountain air. This is what awaits tourists in the marvelous Logar Valley (Logarska dolina) in beautiful Northern Slovenia. In winter, you can hear the squeak of fluffy snow under the skis, and in summer – the rotation of a mountain bike chain. Besides, the Logar Valley has a lot to offer for those who prefer a relaxing holiday to sports. You can climb one of the peaks, admire the green slopes, covered like a carpet with flowers and mountain grasses. You may even notice the permanent inhabitants of the local forests, chamois or roe deer, as well as long-haired cows grazing in the meadow. Or you can take a horse and ride upwind along the Logar Valley, enjoying the scenery passing by, or go fishing on one of the crystal lakes hidden at the foot of the mountains. Moreover, there are unique preserved wooden shepherd's huts, whose friendly owners are happy to invite travelers to a modest but very tasty rural traditional meal: the famous buckwheat "žganci" with warm fresh milk or smoked delicacies, Upper Savinja pork stomachs, and most importantly the local dessert, the delicious potica nut roll, and the legendary blueberry schnapps.
But no matter how delicious the Slovenian national dishes and the beautiful scenery of the Logar Valley are, nothing can compare with the beauty and grandeur of the main pearl of these places – the delightful Rinka Falls. You can get to this magnificent 90-meter waterfall by hiking trails laid in the forest. The walk through the forest itself will make a deep impression on you, but wait until you reach your destination. This view will win your heart and will forever remain in your memory.
