Every creation is unique, whether it is a painting, sculpture, or other work of art. However, there are also such works that are called genuine masterpieces. They exist in a single copy and, as a rule, their description begins with adverbs in the superlative degree, like the longest bridge in the world, the tallest building, or the oldest museum. These landmarks always attract the attention of travelers with their uniqueness.

The German city of Dresden boasts many unusual objects. But there is one that amazes every viewer, regardless of their preferences. The world's largest porcelain panel called "Procession of Princes" amazes with its scale and technique. With an area of almost a thousand square meters, the panel consists of 25 thousand tiles. 102 meters long and about 10 meters high, it adorns the outer wall of a medieval architectural monument, the legendary Dresden Castle.

The history of the famous panel began in the 16th century when a local artist painted the walls of the royal residence with ordinary lime paints. The work of the talented master turned out to be short-lived: it was destroyed in just a few years. However, the fame of the court painter nagged at many German masters. 300 years later, on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the ruling Wettin royal family, the artist Wilhelm Walther covered the same wall with a painting in the sgraffito technique, a popular art trend in the Renaissance period.

This masterpiece was relocated to the porcelain mosaic tiles at the beginning of the 20th century. Even the numerous bombings during the Second World War could not damage it significantly: only 200 tiles had to be replaced. But later, the world's largest porcelain panel played out in fresh colors, becoming one of the main attractions not only in Dresden but also in Germany.

In total, the panel depicts 94 heroes, 35 of whom are Saxon counts, electors, and kings. Other 59 are scientists, poets, painters, artisans, and peasants. There are also horses and two greyhounds. And the last person who completes the famous procession is the author of the panel, Wilhelm Walther.
