No trip to the most romantic city in the world is complete without a fabulous photo against the background of the hallmark of France, the Eiffel Tower. It is worth mentioning that the most delightful views of the tower and the scenic Seine opens up from the famous Trocadero Square. There begin sightseeing tours of Paris, people drink champagne and sing touching songs, lovers confess their love, and friends and partners make appointments with each other. Located on the top of the Chaillot Hill, the ancient square with a diameter of 164 meters got its name in 1877 in honor of the Spanish fort Trocadero, captured by the French army. Simultaneously, the Trocadero Palace was erected on the square with two high towers in the Moorish style. It was more than 700 meters long, and its facade was decorated with 22 allegoric statues embodying power, symbolizing one of the influential countries of that time: France, Germany, Russia, and China. Today, the Palais de Chaillot rises in its place. The Peace Monument by Albert Laprade was replaced by a bronze equestrian statue of French Marshal Ferdinand Foch. In 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the palace, and the wide esplanade overlooking the Eiffel Tower was officially named the Esplanade for Human Rights.

The modern building of the palace houses the rich collections of the National Naval Museum of France, including the famous boat that brought the ashes of Napoleon I from St. Helena to Paris, the Museum of Humanity, and the National Museum of Architecture and Heritage, displaying models of architectural landmarks from the Middle Ages to the present day. Besides, the Chaillot National Theatre is located here, on whose stage Vladimir Vysotsky played Hamlet in 1977. From both sides of the palace, spread the enchanting Trocadero Gardens with the Fountain of Warsaw, statues, and sculptural compositions, which gives the Trocadero square an even more festive look.
