If traveling northern Denmark, you need to visit the Tropical Zoo in Randers. A lot of flora and fauna kinds are gathered in this wonderful place.
Randers Tropical Zoo is one of the most popular zoos in Denmark, attracting a huge number of travelers, and one of the largest Northern Europe zoo-centers. What is more, it has a good location, not far from the center of Randers.
The facade of Randers Tropical Zoo catches attention at once: you can see several domed buildings, looking like alien spaceships or hangars for their parking.
The zoo has several thematic pavilions. The first two tropical areas of Randers Tropical Zoo were opened the June 13th, 1996. A few years later two more pavilions were added: The South Africa space (2003), the Seawater Aquarium (2005).
Nowadays, Tropical Zoo is a home for 200 fauna species from the various continents and more than 350 sorts of peculiar plants that grow in rain forests of the zoo.
Here you can see different kinds of mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, which were brought from Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa, Australia.
Besides, Randers Tropical Zoo has its own terrarium named “the Garden of the Snake”, and the ancient sunken frigate of the XVIII century is now an aquarium – its corpus is now inhabited by tropical fishes.
