Kromeržiz, a small town whose monuments are included in the Czech UNESCO list, is located among fertile fields in the valley of the Moravian river Ganaju

Cultural, architectural and decorative values of Kroměříž is the Archbishop's castle in the Baroque style and the Palace and Flower gardens included in the castle complex.

In the spring and summer season, the former residence of the bishops of Olomouc blooms like a fairy-tale scenery. The "notes" of flowers and shrubs, architectural elements, and valuable works of art sound as a single ensemble (the halls of the Archbishop's castle contain a valuable library and paintings by Titian, Veronese, Bruegel, and other masters).

The flower garden is like a game of colors, unique from season to season. During the reconstruction of the city, destroyed by the Thirty Years' War, the Italian architects F. Lucchese and P. G. Tencalla planned a charming late Renaissance garden on the fairly marshy ground outside the walls of the Kroměříž castle.

The Italian garden with paths was laid out on 16 hectares, with a 244-meter gallery of statues of ancient gods and mythological heroes. The central part of the garden geometry is decorated with a rotunda pavilion. The attached new entrance of the first half of the 19th century is surrounded by large greenhouses.

The garden is geometrically divided into several sections. Flowerbed compositions are supplemented with mazes of shrubs. Through the mazes, the path continues to two restored Trout ponds and Strawberry hills that overlook the garden. There are also mounds of Rabbit and Bird.

In 1998, the complex with a castle and a garden was included in the UNESCO list of sites due to the historical authenticity of architecture, landscape design, and landscaping while preserving the purity of style. Today, the Flower Garden is a classic example of landscape art and architecture in Europe.

The garden is beautiful at any time of the year, ornamental flowerbeds are planted by mid may. Every year, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, and meetings of scientists are held among the greenery. And in general, a small Kroměříž is an attractive destination for cultural and educational travel: for its visual and historical charm, the city is called "Hanácké Athény".
