Many millions of years ago, during the late Proterozoic, life on Earth was completely different. The world's oceans were just forming, and numerous seas appeared in the most unexpected places. They arose, receded, the land was actively changing its relief. In the younger Mesozoic, the seas returned, forming deposits of sand and limestone clay at the bottom. Over time, the water receded again, and sandstones were formed on the surface of the earth. Rains, winds, and other natural phenomena contributed to the formation of the Adrspach cliffs in the north-east of the Czech Republic. Their unusual appearance delights travelers to this day.
For a long time, people did not know much about the rock town. Only the locals knew about the majestic stone streets in the depths of the forest, where they hid from wars and destructions. However, today it is one of the most popular natural attractions in the country. The Adrspach Rock Town is home to many species of endangered animals, birds, and plants. It is part of the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area and is under state protection. At the same time, there are always a lot of tourists and enthusiasts who strictly follow the rules of the reserve.
