It is not surprising that both locals and tourists consider the palatial complex of the Tyzenhaus dynasty to be the main attraction of the Belarusian city of Pastavy. After all, the representatives of this ancient family ensured the city's prosperity and transformation from an inconspicuous provincial town into a major European cultural and industrial center. This happened in the 18th century when the construction of the Tyzenhaus family nest began.

In 1760, a talented politician and financier, Antoni Tyzenhaus, founded his residence in Pastavy and began building the famous palace designed by the renowned Italian architect of the king's court, Giuseppe de Sacco. However, he was not destined to see all the splendor of the family estate, as the construction was delayed for many years and was completed by the grand-nephew of Antoni, Constantine Tyzenhaus.

The one-story rectangular building of the palace is in the classical style. Vertical blades with spacious windows between them decorate all its facades. The central facade is adorned with a Tuscan portico with six columns, which gives the whole building a solemn look. The windows have decorative cornices and various stucco moldings.

Later, the palace was repeatedly rebuilt by other owners. Its internal layout was especially changed after the Second World War when its halls were rebuilt for the needs of the central district hospital (it is located within its walls). But the appearance of the palace has been preserved to this day in its original form, the one that was seen by Russian Emperor Nicholas II. A picturesque landscape park with an area of 10 hectares was laid out at the palace in the same years. It is partially preserved today.

In 2006, the palace entrance was adorned with a monument to Constantine Tyzenhaus with an owl, the symbol of wisdom, at the right foot and a pair of birds on the right hand. In 2014, the museum of the Tyzenhaus dynasty was opened in the basement of the palace.
