If you are a fan of cyberpunk games, and the movie "Johnny Mnemonic" is one of your favorites, then you should definitely visit this place! The center for electronic art, the museum of the future, is a unique structure built on the banks of the Danube River in 2009. It is worth looking at especially in the evening because the facade of this futuristic building is illuminated by forty thousand LEDs! It makes an unforgettable impression!

The building itself is impressive in its scale. There are 3,000 square meters of exhibition space, 1,000 for research, 400 for seminars and conferences, as well as 650 for restaurants and a huge area in front of the building itself for open-air events.

This is not only a museum where you can see original exhibits of techno-art. The Ars Electronica Center Museum represents various fields of art, science, and technology: biotechnology, genetic engineering, neuroscience, robotics, prosthetics, and media art.

The museum has a lot of interactive objects and installations that can be manipulated in various ways. In addition to the exhibitions themselves, there are also studies on 3D modeling and virtual reality. The exhibition is based on four laboratories: brain, biological, robot and manufacturing laboratories.

As part of the "Deep Space 8K" project, the center offers an immersion in the virtual world using a system of projections on the walls (16 by 9 meters each; 4 projectors weighing 68 kg) and the floor, laser tracking, and three-dimensional animation. Since August 2015, all projections of various "worlds" from the field of medicine, astronomy or Geology are shown in the highest quality 8K.

The center also researches in the field of artificial intelligence and interactive technologies. There are an art workshop and a laboratory for research in the field of art.

As proof of its achievements, in 1998 it received the museum prize of Austria (Österreichischer Museumspreis) for the project "Museum of the future".

In addition to laboratories for adults, there are also children's research centers designed for children from 4 to 8 years old.
