Not many people know about Nikolai Syadristy, the Ukrainian master of miniatures. To fill the gaps in knowledge of this art, go to the northernmost town of the Principality of Andorra, Ordino, to the world-famous Museum of Miniatures. This amazing place is the property of Antoni Zorzano, a passionate collector and honorary consul of Ukraine in Andorra. Thanks to Antoni, thousands of tourists come to the town to visit the museum.
This museum displays more than 12 masterpieces of talented miniaturist Nikolai Syadristy, whose works were exhibited in 80 countries and had resounding success everywhere. The master's work can only be seen in two places in the world: his hometown of Kyiv, Ukraine, and Ordino, Andorra.
Here one can see the portrait of John Paul II, an elegant bas-relief made on a thorn, or a chessboard with pieces standing on the head of an ordinary nail, or a golden swallow nesting in a half poppy seed, or a frigate just over 3 mm long. The most popular exhibits among visitors are a horse chariot with an archer and a caravan of camels, located in the eye of the needle.
The exhibition of miniatures is not large, but each work is precious in the literal and figurative sense. The main materials for his works are precious metals: platinum and gold. All of his amazing works are made by hand, and the cost of each of them, even by the most conservative estimates, exceeds tens of thousands of dollars.
Nikolay Syadristy has been practicing this art form for more than 40 years. He is recognized as the best miniaturist in the world, and this means only one thing – it is time to pack your suitcases and book a ticket to Ordino.
