Caldea Spa in the town of Escaldes-Engordany is one of the largest recreational centers in Europe, which was built over thermal springs. The complex was opened in 1994 and soon became one of the most visited places in Andorra.
The unusual architectural implementation makes the spa buildings recognizable: glass «slopes» and mirrored «top» make this man-made «mountain system» one of the visual symbols of Andorra. The complex was designed by the French architect, Jean-Michel Ruols.
In Caldea, it is possible to combine different goals: leisure, relaxation, recreation. The area of this thermal «kingdom» is over 30,000 square meters. The ultramodern spa center stands on the natural springs. The temperature of the springs reaches 70ºC. The local healing water is rich in sulfur and other mineral elements, including sodium, calcium, and sulfates. Its beneficial effects are manifested in its wound healing, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic effects.
The thermal baths can be visited by guests of all ages – it is a true family center, where everyone can find something to suit their taste.
In the evening, the main lagoon of the complex becomes a theatrical stage, where the unusual play called Water World is performed.
The large outdoor thermal pool has cascading waterfalls, water seats, massage jets with different pressure.
The large thermal center has 4 wellness areas:
• spa area with thermal water and entertainment;
• Inuu Spa, an adults-only area;
• Origenes Spa with exquisite themed baths for a special experience (grapefruit bath, Aztec bath with massage stones, etc.);
• Likids, children's wellness area for guests (3-8 years old).
You can choose the Indo-Roman baths with their spectacular temperature contrasts, the Icelandic bath, the Sirocco bath, hammam, or sauna.
There is also a fitness room, aqua massage area, saunas with relaxing lighting, and pleasant beauty treatments such as chocolate wraps.
