The hospitable town of Encamp can be called a city-size superb ski resort. You can ski on the well-equipped snow pistes, take a hot tub or swim in one of the pools of the local thermal springs, and then go for a sumptuous meal. However, this town went beyond all the famous winter resorts. It offers its guests even more activities. In addition to outdoor activities and spa treatments, there are amazing places such as the National Automobile Museum.
Come to this museum to find yourself among the expensive and extravagant car brands, learn about the creation of the first car and trace the evolution of vehicles. Whether its guests are mechanical enthusiasts or not, everyone will be satisfied.
The museum was created thanks to the support of the Government of Andorra. Its first exhibits were rare cars from private collections. The exposition was quickly expanded with new items and soon displayed almost all periods of history. There are the spectacular La Salle passenger cars with their curvaceous shape and comfortable interior, produced by the famous General Motors Corporation from 1927 to 1940. The brand was named after the French traveler and explorer, Rene-Robert Cavelier de La Salle. Moreover, you can find the three-wheeled KR200, created in 1955 by aircraft designer Fritz Fend at the Messerschmitt aircraft factory, Germany. There are also many mini-cars of the Spanish brand PTV. All visitors of the museum are particularly interested in the first sports models of the British company Lola Cars, the developer and designer of racing cars since 1961. But the real highlight is the oldest exhibit – a car with a steam engine from 1898.
Over 100 rare cars and the same number of bicycles and motorcycles, as well as numerous miniature copies, spare parts, accessories, and advertising posters from different years, are on display on several floors of the building.
