Many countries are proud of their universities, which are several hundred years old. In the small city of Soyapango, El Salvador, a higher educational institution has appeared recently. However, it has managed to gain recognition not only among locals but also among international students.

In the 1980s, the country had an educational crisis: there were not enough higher education institutions. A group of enthusiasts who supported the construction of the University in Soyapango wanted to get not just a classic university but an educational institution based on the principles of the Salesians: innovation, quality, and sense of purpose. All that is so interesting to young people.

In 1984, such a university, Don Bosco University, appeared in Soyapango. Before the start of the educational process, it was necessary to build worthy classrooms, dormitories. The most important goal was to select the teaching staff that would share the Salesian theory that everyone regardless of status, availability of money and religion needs education.

The first classes began in 1986.  At that time, the University had two main fields: engineering and humanities. Gradually the number of faculties and specialties has increased. So now you can study more than 30 professions at Don Bosco University.

Besides, the university has introduced an innovative distance education system for El Salvador in 2019. Now everyone has an opportunity to study at this prestigious university. So far, full courses have been developed for three fields of education. Soon, such a system will be available for all educational programs. Moreover, students of the virtual course can come to the university to use a modern laboratory and research center. But this is not mandatory.

For tourists, Don Bosco University is attractive in terms of the organization of space. It's like a small town in a big city. Besides, the university periodically hosts creative events and fairs, in which everyone can participate.
