It seems that this mansion was brought by a hurricane. It was located somewhere in Kansas, and now it is on the Caribbean in Anguilla. The house does not fit with snow-white beaches, clear warm waves, and green palm trees. But it adds something special to Anguilla. Wallblake House is a very picturesque and interesting place.
The estate is the oldest Anguilla construction. The house is about 300 years old, but we do know who built it. Wallblake House has a long history – it has been destroyed by natural disasters and in civil wars. From afar, it looks good. It even seems to be new. But taking a closer look, you see that the house is rather old. The paint and stone of the basement and the first floor are cracking.
It is not an ordinary house. It keeps many mysteries, so it is rather scary to enter it. You feel uneasy. The house “was frozen” in the middle of the 19th century. It seems that an oval table in the living room is about to be served, somebody brings dishes, pour wine into glasses. And after a few minutes, a noble family come down for dinner.
You get into another world, at another time. Slowly and enchanted, you roam about the house, look at the interior items. And the house tells you about its difficult life.
An old house is just a part of your visit. Next to it, there are some old plantations. Take a hat and go for a walk. You descend the stairs, go through a nice garden with an incredible scent of flowers, and see large fields. Once, they were planted with cotton and sugarcane. Something has left.
