Port Jackson is beautiful and winding. Its entrance is marked by two lighthouses: North Head and Hornby Lighthouse.

Port Jackson is one of the most important places in the history of Sydney and all of Australia. It was there that the first European colony was founded many centuries ago. The exploration of the continent and its rapid development began from there.

Today, Port Jackson remains an important location in the city. First, its coastline is very convenient for ships of various sizes to come: from small boats to huge liners and cargo steamers. Secondly, it is an incredibly beautiful place created by nature itself. Engineers have added to its elegance by placing the famous Sydney Opera house and the harbor bridge, which has become one of the city's calling cards.

There are also historical attractions. For example, the oldest Macquarie lighthouse in Australia is located on the Southside of the bay. It is loved by both guests and locals, as it perfectly complements the ocean view.

Another interesting place in Port Jackson is Goat Island. Previously, this place was used as a gunpowder warehouse, arsenal, shipyard, and technical facilities for ship repairs. Now there are educational institutions. In the 1990s, TV series were filmed on the island, and large music festivals and exhibitions were held. Today, it is part of the Sydney harbor National Park and one of the favorite recreation areas of residents.

The best way to enjoy the view of Port Jackson is on a water tour. During such a short trip, guests get a great opportunity to admire the panorama of the business center of Sydney, its skyscrapers, and the dominating Sydney Tower.

It is most interesting to be in Port Jackson during the annual new year's eve fireworks: all the embankments and the bridge are filled with thousands of spectators, who delight in watching the fire show over the entire bay.
