Kryal Castle

Kryal Castle is the only medieval castle and theme Park in Australia dedicated to this era.

In fact, the building is not old. This is a replica of the castle, which was located near the city of Ballarat more than a century ago.

Since Australia does not have its ancient castles, while the fairytale place could attract tourists and become a favorite holiday destination for residents, it was decided to build an ancient castle. Work began in 1972. In two years, all parts of the castle were built and all the rides were fully assembled. And in 1972 Kryal Castle received its first guests.

Kryal Castle is a whole fairy-tale world. There are a moat and a drawbridge, just like in a real medieval fortress. For those who like to wander and reflect on life, there is also a fascinating maze. And of course, the castle has a high tower and an Arsenal.

There are regularly themed shows and theatrical performances about the life and life of knights in the Middle Ages. Besides, there are always wizards, jesters, jugglers, javelin throwers, and fire-taming fakirs at Kryal Castle. So guests can find interesting mini-performances at every step.

Those who want to tickle their nerves can go to the museum "Torture Chamber". Its collection, for the most part, consists of recreated instruments. However, there are also authentic old copies that tell how the prisoners were cruelly abused in the Middle Ages.

The castle was completely renovated in 2012. And a year later it was opened to the public. New rides that attracted even more guests were added.

Besides, the Kryal Castle has guest rooms where you can stay to feel the life in a medieval fortress, not only as a guest for a few hours but also almost as a resident.
