Hoang Lien National Park is located near the city of Sa Pa. It is one of the most important attractions in the country. For many people, Vietnam is associated with a clear sea, sunny beaches and Buddhist temples but not with unique reserves and impressive mountain ranges covered with thick fog. So, if you get tired of a beach vacation, then go to Hoang Lien for new impressions.
The national park takes an area of 298.45 square kilometers on the north-east of Hoang Lien Son, which name means «the Main Mountain Range». When you view the panorama with numerous majestic peaks, that is the only name that comes to mind. The length of the range reaches 180 kilometers, the width – 30 kilometers, and the height of mountains varies between 1000 and 3000 meters.
Hoang Lien National Park is a place where travelers can not only explore the most beautiful corners of the Vietnamese province of Lao Cai but also learn more about local traditions and cultural values. Numerous ethnic minorities live on the territory of the park. They are glad to talk to passersby and suggest them to stay in their places for a day or two. It is an absolutely unique, unexpected and useful experience even for «veteran» travelers. If you have such an opportunity – do not hesitate and accept it.
Women from local mountain tribes are true needlewomen. Pay attention to various bracelets, headbands, bags, shoes... These bright unique items, which reflect the features of the Vietnamese culture, can become amazing souvenirs and memorable gifts for you and your relatives.
As for nature, Hoang Lien is not less diverse than any other park of the country. On its territory, you can see around 2000 species of plants, part of which grow only there, and 500 species of animals, which can also be seen only in this place. Some representatives of local flora and fauna are included in the Red List of Vietnam. To see them with your own eyes is like to become a witness of a miracle. You will be equally impressed by a picturesque pass of O Quy Ho, Silver Falls and the mountain of Fansipan.
