One of the most picturesque and tourist-popular islands in Ha Long Bay is Titov island. It is located at the very center of the bay, just eight kilometers to the south-east from the famous Bai Chay beach, on the seashore of a harbor. Although it is not as big as that of the nearest cliff hills, it is among the twenty best attractions in the area of Ha Long Bay.

Travelers can visit Titov island at any time of the year – thanks to the favorable local climate. However, there are two seasons when the demand for cruises to the islands of the bay is extremely high: from June to July and from December to February. In the first case tourists from all over Vietnam and the neighboring Asian countries come to that paradisaic place to spend their vacation. In the second case travelers from Europe, America and other countries with cold and temperate climates come to survive winter in this place, where summer is permanent. So, when you choose the time for your vacation on Titov island, please consider these factors and try to find less «popular» seasons.

Apart from the fascinating mountain and marine landscape and the breath-taking panoramic scenery of the nearest islands, Titov island will impress its visitors with a small but beautiful beach. It is famous for snow-white sand, transparent water and an excellent atmosphere. This is an ideal place for hydrotherapy, sunbaths and barbecue in fresh air!

Near the beach, there are shops, bars and restaurants, where you can buy beach accessories and souvenirs, stock up on refreshing drinks and try delicious dishes made from fresh local seafood. Foodies will be satisfied, and others will be really impressed!

For those who are fond of active vacation, Titov island offers kayaking and snorkeling – extreme water sports. Those tourists who are less brave will like hiking to the central observation deck which is located on the peak of the mountain island. Go up there at least twice – at the dawn and during the sunset.

Titov island was named after a famous Soviet cosmonaut Gherman Titov who visited Ha Long Bay a year after his famous flight above Earth. At that time, Gherman Titov became the first person who made a space flight – its duration was more than one day. During the trip across the islands of the bay, he was accompanied by a Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh. As a gesture of friendship between Vietnam and the USSR, Ho Chi Minh decided to rename one of the Ha Long Bay islands in honor of that valiant cosmonaut. Moreover, in 2015, there was a grand opening of a monument in honor of Titov on Titov island.
