Hang Mua Mountain is located not far from the city of Ninh Binh and the national park of Tam Coc. Many popular touristic attractions of Vietnam, which are loved by travelers not only for rich cultural heritage but also for incredible nature, are located in these places. Hang Mua is not an exception. To say more, it stands out from the rest of the places of the province for its beauty, a stunning cave and the most beautiful observation deck in Ninh Binh. For these unique characteristics, the mountain was called a muse of Tam Coc.
Around five hundred steps made of limestone lead to the peak of Hang Mua. On both sides, they are decorated with stone figures of dragons and phoenixes. From the top and from aside they look like the Great Wall of China in miniature. Going up Hang Mua is a picturesque, but long and energy-wasting adventure. Nevertheless, bird's-eye views are truly stunning!
When you stand on the observation deck, you can easily feel like you are at the top of the world. Emerald cliffs, golden rice fields, serene rivers with boats floating on them... We advise you to come there in the morning at dawn time and in the evening during sunset. High-quality and unique photos in the rays of dawn and sunset are guaranteed.
Next to the observation deck on Hang Mua, there is a snow-white sculpture of a Buddhist goddess Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. Locals believe that the whole mountain is under her protection and patronage. A bit lower and further away, there is a small tower which can be reached by a separate staircase. Its architecture resembles Buddhist pagodas: the square foundation symbolizes the earth, the round top – water, sloping roofs – air, and sharpened decor on them – fire.
After impressive climbing, you can go down to the Mua Cave, located at the bottom of the mountain. This place is not only picturesque but also allows wandering in coolness.
You need to pay to enter the park, which is open from 6:00 to 19:00. You can get there on your own by a moped or a bike which you can rent in a hotel. You may also get there by taxi, or you may join a tour group.
