Creating an artificial island may seem like a waste of money, but not in the Emirates. The manmade islands in Dubai are one of the wonders of recent years in this country. A few new pieces of land reveal the possibilities of modern technology. The first wonder that surprised the world was Palm Jumeirah Island, named after the coast where it is located. The symbolic palm tree with smooth "plant" geometry of the "streets" among the bay is perfectly visible even from space.
Why are such bizarre constructions are created right in the sea? The coast of Dubai is not long, about 72 km. But the most profitable places for life and tourism are always by the sea. And in such a hot country, coastal areas are especially desirable! They wondered, "Why not expand the coast?" and began to implement fabulous projects to create islands.
Thanks to the Palm Jumeirah, the coastline lengthened by 78 km, and after the completion of the three islands project, the coastline will add a total of 520 km!
The Palm Jumeirah is the smallest island of the Dubai project, but the most famous in the world: it was the first embodied part of this maritime fairy tale. Its dimensions are 5×5 km: it is already finished. The island as a whole has "grown" in a little over 5 years.
On the island, there are residential buildings and ones with services, stores. The cost of facilities here is also fabulous, but how else it can be on a fantastic island? A few years ago, it was possible to buy an apartment for 500 thousand euros or one of the 2,000 villas for 1 million euros or more.
And what about the other wonder islands that are part of the "palm" project of Dubai?
Palm Jebel Ali Island is half the size of the Palm Jumeirah. Here, the architects have "won" even more: the houses on stilts over the water, marinas, and the water park are developed. A promenade in the shape of an inscription in Arabic will be placed all over the island. And the inscription is not just any, but a poem written for this purpose by the Sheikh of Dubai.
Palm Deira Island is the largest "sea palm," 14×8,5 km in size! According to calculations, it requires more than a billion cubic meters of sand and stones! This island is designed for the accommodation and recreation of tourists, there will be sports fields and entertainment facilities.
