The city of Mersin has been the biggest Turkish dock from ancient times. Locals call it the pear of the Mediterranean Sea. And owners of luxurious yachts and sailing boats use it as a permanent station of their snow-white vessels.

The modern perfectly equipped dock was built in 1994. It can accommodate up to 500 vessels on the water and up to 500 vessels on the seashore. Two new breakwaters, 1140 and 265 meters long, have two modern lighthouses which do not only have practical functions but also are one of the most popular touristic places in the city. The picturesque city dock, which occupies an area of more than 300 square meters and which length is around 2.5 kilometers, is considered the biggest yacht dock in Turkey and is one of the main touristic attractions of Mersin.

The dock is located several kilometers away from the main port. So it is not only a wonderful project for yachts and yachtsmen but also a good ecological and clean space which is suitable for all residents and guests of the city. Apart from the territory, which is used for technical services of marine transport, there is an elite club of yachting and sailing, where everyone can study sailing. If you are an experienced yachtsman or an owner of a boat, you will be offered a prestigious membership in the club.

Moreover, the territory of the dock houses a big shopping center with lots of world-known boutiques and also a spacious restaurant with dishes of traditional Turkish and European cuisine. There you will find a modern cinema and a small amphitheater which can accommodate up to 2000 people. International artists regularly perform there. Numerous cultural events also take place there.

There is something for the youngest visitors as well. For example, a playground called Joy Port with different merry attractions was organized on its territory. There is also a colorful mini-train that can get the children to the playground.
