The outstanding personality of the first president of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, was held in reverence in this country almost at the level of prophets. Numerous city squares, streets, schools, and stadiums are named in honor of him, including the largest Turkish airport. In this light, the main boulevard of the resort city of Kemer is also named Ataturk Boulevard.

The boulevard, which is about 2.5 kilometers long, crosses almost the entire city. This is the place, where tourist buses depart for guided tours, and the most fashionable 5-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques, traditional restaurants, and fashionable youth bars are located. Ataturk Boulevard is probably the best starting point to discover Kemer. Moreover, it is the safest place in the city, it offers an opportunity to exchange money for local currency, or visit a pharmacy, if necessary. A huge bazaar opens on the boulevard on Mondays and Tuesdays, it is an exciting attraction for shopaholics.

It is a luxury to rent a room in one of the hotels facing the boulevard, as the windows of such rooms have a view of the Mediterranean Sea. Almost each of the hotels has its own private beach and a small recreation park with entertainment facilities. The hotels of Ataturk Boulevard would probably fit the interest of those, who prefer to stay in the center of various events even on vacation as well as to dance until mornings in local nightclubs, go shopping, and have dinners in the best restaurants of Kemer. In case you prefer silence rather than luxury, I would recommend staying in small cozy hotels located in the suburbs of Kemer.

However, the preferences for overnight stays are not that important, as every visitor of Kemer would take a walk along the picturesque boulevard. It would be better to have one separate day devoted to the boulevard, as the visits to the central Ataturk Square and the snow-white Mosque of Kemer would require a lot of time. The main attraction of the square is the monument to Mustafa Kemal Ataturt, holding a beautiful dove, as a symbol of peace, and his undisputed leadership as regards the history of Turkey.
