Elephant Village

Patient elephant mothers carry the child for two years and feed it with milk for four years more. Likewise, the Thais treat this intelligent and strong animal weighing about four tones with love and respect. Not only female elephants but also drovers nurse these wonderful creatures. It’s not just a profession. It is a way of life where all the responsibility for elephants is borne by a human. A drover and an elephant live side by side. The private elephant sanctuary was founded in 1973 to provide first aid to animals affected by poachers. The fantastic story became famous far beyond the country and made the park a popular tourist attraction. Over time, observing the animals did not remain the only entertainment in the so-called village. The park managers offered guests a fascinating ride on strong elephants. The first travelers were so excited about the adventure, a sense of freedom and unity with nature that the fame of traveling on elephants quickly spread through the jungle and attracted thousands of tourists from all over the world. Elephants fancy these walks as well, so they let people climb on their broad backs to go into the jungle, the wildlife realm.
