Namsan Park
Seoul and surrounding
Squares, Parks, Gardens
Squares, Parks, Gardens

No matter how trivial it may sound, the capital of South Korea, Seoul, is really the city of exciting contrasts. Ancient shrines and royal palaces are everywhere on the streets. And they are surrounded by no less beautiful modern constructions. But you shouldn’t forget about the natural attractions of the city, where you can get the same vivid impressions and have a rest from the hustle and bustle as well.

Namsan is a large public park, situated on the slopes of the mountain of the same name in Seoul. Every day it is visited by several thousand people, who want to stay in nature but can’t afford to travel outside the city. The park allows them to relax in the fresh air being surrounded by a dense forest that amazes with its magnificent colors, regardless of time and season. At the same time, citizens and guests stay in the center of the huge and busy megalopolis.

Another reason to visit Namsan is the stunning views of Seoul from every point of the park. You can walk along the hiking trails and enjoy the surrounding nature overlooking the city, or find a picturesque place and have a romantic picnic. But there are even more interesting options. Namsan Park is the site where everyone can admire Seoul from a bird’s eye view.

At the top of the mountain, there stands Tower N, which attracts visitors like a magnet. Many people aspire to go up to the observation deck, even if they have already been there many times. The reason is the best panoramic view of the city, especially at night. Spend the sunset and look at evening Seoul under the illumination. And if you get hungry, continue the date with the city in local cafes and restaurants.

One more way to go higher and admire the city is to ride a cable car. For several decades, it has delivered guests of the park from the foot of the mountain to Tower N.
