What can be more interesting than getting acquainted with the fantastic world of the underwater kingdom, especially if you have never dived into the depths of the sea in search of amazing adventures? It does not matter what age is the visitor to zoos and aquariums because they will always be amazed by its creatures. Probably, this is one of those attractions where we want to come back again and again. When we go there, we feel like coming to our friends’ homes.
The biggest Korean aquarium called Aqua Planet is exactly this type of friendly and welcoming place. The aquarium is located in the city of Goyang. The building of the aquarium looks like a huge cruise liner which is about to go for a long journey. The spacious four-story building, which occupies an area of around 15 thousand square meters, was built in 2014. Aqua Planet became the fourth aquarium in the country and the first one which housed not only aquariums with underwater marine inhabitants, but also aviaries with their coastal land neighbors.
The space of the aquarium is divided into two parts. The first one has aquariums and basins, and the second – real jungles with the wild jaguars, Madagascar lemurs and a huge number of different exotic birds. There you can also see friendly beavers and penguins which will show some original tricks to visitors if the last give them treats. The true symbol of the aquarium is a huge young walrus, Mary. Its loud roar can be heard across the whole territory of the aquarium.
Another big aquarium named «Blue Ocean», which length is more than 10 meters and which depth is six meters, is home to around 10 thousand marine creatures including the dangerous whitetip reef sharks which often attack people in the high seas. There you can also see the brightest and most colorful predators of ancient times, the zebra sharks, and a giant oceanic manta ray that will definitely impress you.
