Wondering around Kuala Lumpur, study the signs on the buildings. You won’t find a single one of the city authorities among them. The Malaysians simply moved all city authorities: the prime minister, courts, and committees from the capital to another city, leaving only banks and shopping centers in Kuala Lumpur.
However, everything is located nearby. Simply take a bus or metro and get to Putrajaya. It is also called the lost city or the ghost city. Thousands of tourists come to see the deserted city primarily because of its mystery and enigmatic nicknames.
Getting off the transport, you will be amazed at the vastitude: wide roads, similarly huge sidewalks, plenty of space, and only a couple of birds. At first, it may seem that there are no people here, but then a car will drive past you, followed by another one. There may be people here, but they don’t usually walk.
However, having a walk in the city is the best way to discover it. Putrajaya is worthy of your note. In the new capital of Malaysia, you feel like in a fantastic movie and an oriental fairy tale simultaneously. Off-beat architecture, including bizarrely shaped skyscrapers and iron mosques, make you doubt the reality of your environment. Temples and impressive mosques return you to earth.
There is a lot to see in Putrajaya, from the Palace of the Prime Minister to the incredible ethereal bridges. Be sure to take a walk near the pink mosque. You will be allowed to go inside, but there are a lot of tourists. It might be the only place in the city where you can meet people.
While walking around the city, you will come across beautiful parks, with gardeners as the only living souls. The absolute silence is disturbed only by the rustle of leaves, birds singing, and the noise of monkeys, which hop from one tree to another. It is very hot in Putrajaya, but you can relax and freshen up in the shade of trees in a park. Be careful not to stay here for too long. The day in Asia is very short, and you won’t have time to see all the city before dark.
