The Bhojeshwar Temple is not finished. Construction began around the 11th century during the reign of King Bhojeshwar. According to legend, a huge building was supposed to appear overnight and at dawn, workers were just finishing the facade of the central wall.

There is a theory that the temple is a tomb. The king hastily built it for his father. There is no exact confirmation of this fact. Officially, it is a temple for the god Shiva. There is even a sanctuary of the god inside. However, scientists do not discount the possibility that Bhojeshwar is a place of burial by its shape and some texts.
