The Chinese city of Shanghai is often compared to American New York. It is also considered to be the business hub of its country. It hosts equally numerous mind-blowing contrasts of gigantic skyscrapers neighboring picturesque parks and fancy ghettos. Even the gorgeous panorama over the Pudong (a district of Shanghai) opening up from the waterfront promenade of the Bund resembles Manhattan in New York.

Nonetheless, regardless of some similarities, the modern architecture of Shanghai is filled with the unmistakable vibes of Tianxia. And the Jin Mao Tower proves that.

The name of the skyscraper translates as «Golden Prosperity Building».

The exterior of the tower resembles a pagoda, and glass and aluminum used in the facade design create the effect of glistening silver.

Jin Mao is definitely one of the top 20 highest buildings in the world. It is 421 meters tall, and its top floor is 366 meters above sea level.

Although Shanghai is frequented by diverse natural disasters, inside the walls of Jin Mao you will be safe. The building structure is specifically designed to resist hurricanes and strong earthquakes that are not uncommon in this area.

Basically, Jin Mao is a business center with numerous offices that occupy the first 50 floors of the skyscraper. But there are things to do and to see for travelers as well.

The most interesting place of the tower is its observation deck. It is located on the top floor and can host 1 000 people. Here, you can enjoy the cityscape from the bird’s eye view, and examine closely the last floors of two neighboring skyscrapers – the Shanghai Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center.

More than 30 floors above the offices are designated for the five-star Grand Hyatt Hotel and a lavish atrium that connects all rooms in a spiral. An elite business club occupies one more floor. Besides that, there are multiple luxurious restaurants including «Cloud 9», one of the highest bars in the world.
