It took more than a decade of careful planning and painstaking work before the world could see one of the island nation's most important attractions. In 1986, the world-famous Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village was opened in the rural Yuchi Township. It is hard to imagine a better place to experience the history and culture of Taiwan's indigenous peoples than visiting this famous tourist site. It is doubly pleasant to combine this educational walk with real fun in a modern amusement park, which is part of a huge 62-hectare theme space. Moreover, there is another unique park area - the country's largest European Garden.

The Aboriginal Culture Village is the largest theme open-air museum in the entire country. Its space is divided into nine small villages, each of which represents its ancient tribe. All the buildings were created to the smallest detail based on drawings by archaeologists and anthropologists and represent living quarters and craft workshops. All visitors to the villages can easily plunge into the life and traditions of indigenous peoples, take part in hand molding and cooking national dishes, learn weaving and knitting. In the evening, they are welcome to enjoy the cultural program by the real aborigines – their traditional dances and fun team games.

The modern amusement park, located between the ancient village and the European Garden, has the most fantastic slides and rides. It is home to Taiwan's first suspended roller coaster and UFO Adventure ride with the highest freefall tower. The cable car that takes everyone to the village also starts here.

The European Garden provides a colorful mini-train that passes through all the sights of the garden: the delightful Roman fountain, the Gothic clock tower, and the impressive Ritz Palace.
