A breathtaking entertainment, an exciting game for adults, a real man's hunt for priceless treasures on all the streets of the Macau Peninsula - this is how the first amateur auto racing looked in 1954. The first professional competitions took place and the first racing cars appeared on the track only in 1967. Since then, the world-famous Grand Prix events with such famous Formula 1 drivers as the legendary Michael Schumacher and Mika Häkkinen have been held annually on the territory of Macau.

In 1993, on the 40th anniversary of sports racing, the unique Macau Grand Prix Museum was opened. The museum's superb collection includes more than 20 sports racing cars and luxury motorcycles owned by world racers. Here you can see their original equipment, honorary awards, cups, and lots of personal items and memorabilia. Numerous articles and photographs show the entire history of the Macau Grand Prix along the famous Guia Circuit from the very first race of 1954 to the present day.

A large part of the fantastic collection is dedicated to the lives and sports careers of such legendary Formula 1 stars as Japanese racer Takuma Sato, Briton David Coulthard, German driver Michael Schumacher and, of course, the great Brazilian athlete Ayrton Senna, whose life was tragically interrupted by a major accident that occurred at the races in 1994. There is also an accurate model of the Guia Circuit with the smallest details. Besides, the museum houses a separate exhibition dedicated to the Dutchman Theodore "Teddy" Yip, a frequent sponsor of many world racers and the Macau Grand Prix events.

The famous Grand Prix Museum is a real symbol of Macau and the true pride of its people. Each guest, even those who are far from this sport, can feel its atmosphere, plunge into the world of drive, adrenaline, high speed, and mortal danger.
