The capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, can scare the hell out of its difficult fate, terrible monuments and skeletons not only  in closets, surprise with development and modernity, unusual for Asia, and delight with the splendor and beauty of its temples and palaces.

Do not forget to bring your sunglasses when you go to explore the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh. Otherwise, the brilliance of the golden domes may blind you. Just imagine, you will be able to walk lazy around the same halls where real kings walked once and walk now. The ruler of Cambodia and his entire family still live in the Palace.

The Palace complex is like a Garden of Eden. There are white and gold incredible architectural structures, a green lawn, neatly trimmed bushes, lush gardens. You can walk on the territory for a very long time, but taking into account the temperature of the air in Cambodia, it is better to go inside. Unfortunately, some of the halls are closed to the public, but those that will be presented to your attention will impress you with the beauty and exoticism of the East. You can see the Throne room, the place where the king once sat.

"I'd like to live like this!" This is what everyone will want to exclaim when entering the Royal Treasury. There are all the Royal regalia, valuable gifts of foreign rulers. The Royal family has so many gifts that some of them had to be moved from the Treasury to the Silver Pagoda. This is a small construction next to the main building of the Palace.

The name of the pagoda is not a joke. It is silver. There are about 6 tons of silver on the floor, and there is a huge statue of the Emerald Buddha, which is decorated with almost 10 thousand diamonds, in the center. Just by looking at the walls of the pagoda once, you can stay there for a few minutes. It has the largest collection of frescoes in Southeast Asia.

Walking through the buildings of the Royal Palace, looking at countless gifts, carved pagodas, you can see a very unusual sight, the footprint of the Buddha. Don't forget to visit the Villa of Napoleon II.
