Even in the bustling cities of Bangladesh, there are places where you can relax from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the beauty of nature. Such a truly fabulous place is the Birishiri district which is located a few kilometers from the center of Mymensingh.
In fact, this is a small village where you can stay for a couple of days to get acquainted with the life of the local population. Locals are quite curious and unpretentious. They preserve ancient traditions, beliefs, and way of life. This place is quite often visited by researchers who come there to better understand the history of the peoples of Bangladesh.
The main advantage of the Birishiri district is its nature.
Just a couple of kilometers from residential buildings, there is a unique natural complex – the China Clay Hills which attracts tourists from different countries. There you can see an incredible beauty: high gentle mountains of pleasant brown shades and a bright turquoise river that flows between them.
Unlike most reservoirs in Bangladesh, the river that flows in the China Clay Hills is quite clean, so you can swim or just admire its rapid flow.
Many tourists who come to Birishiri for the first time say that it is a paradise on earth hidden from prying eyes and city noise. This is true as there are no large settlements near this natural attraction, no busy highways – only the clean air and pristine beauty of the fauna.
However, you must keep in mind that this unique place has almost no infrastructure. You can get there by rented transport or by rickshaw. But if you plan to spend the whole day there, you should take some picnic food with you as there are no cafes or even small shops with food. This is perhaps the only drawback that is fully compensated by the beauty of this picturesque place.
