The heritage, artistic and cultural life of an area can attract tourists and create better quality of life for those who live there.
An Italian student smashed a Greek sculpture at Milan’s Academy of Fine Arts of Brera after he hopped on its lap in order to capture that perfect selfie.
Every year on December 23, the Mexican state of Oaxaca presents the most impressive display of carved vegetables in the world.
Sumgait is a young city. It was created in the 1950s. Therefore, it is useless to search for architectural and historical attractions here. And there are no fascinating museums here either since there is nothing to tell about the formation of the city. So why do tourists come to Sumgait? For a chic beach holiday with a high level of comfort, beautiful landscapes, and warm sea.
Although Sumgait is not very big, there are 24 beaches within the city, each of which is unique in its way. They all have one main feature in common: they do not consist of sand or pebbles, but of billions of tiny shells, bleached by the sun and the sea. Therefore, it may seem at first that the entire coastal strip is covered with flour, which for some reason also glistens in the sun.
Some beaches of Sumgait can be called "thematic". For example, you can ride catamarans and jet skis on one of them, and go water skiing or ride bananas on the other. Some beaches are equipped with tennis courts and beach volleyball courts. Also, several beaches are ideal for diving: they have a beautiful underwater terrain, which is suitable for both beginners and those who have been diving for a long time. And, of course, every beach has comfortable sun loungers, umbrellas, and a well-thought-out infrastructure with cafes, small shops, and rental equipment for outdoor activities.
The most favorite beach, both among locals and tourists, is Seaside Boulevard, which is almost in the center of Sumgait. A beautiful wide staircase leads to the beach, interspersed with terraces. There is also a beautiful cafe on the water, where you can meet a stunning sunset, admiring the endless surface of the Caspian Sea.
