"It`s so beautiful here!" - will repeat you over and over again in Kitulo Plateau National Park. Being here is like visiting the Garden of Eden. Locals delightedly call this place "Bustani ya Mungu", that can be translated as the "Garden of God". I bet you`ve never seen so many flowers. Even those who have never liked flowers will be delighted with such a variety of colors.
A huge multi-colored carpet! Chamomiles, lilies, orchids, poppies are a small part of the collection of plants growing in Kitulo National Park. It seems that every centimeter (the territory of the park is 412 km!) is covered with flowers. A giant bright blanket of flowers is so impressive that you try to examine each of its flowers with admiring eyes and a smile from ear to ear.
The park is located at an altitude of about 2600 meters. It is hidden behind impenetrable dense forests and mountain peaks. These volcanoes used to erupt. But we should thank nature for this: the volcanic soil, rich in trace elements, has become an excellent ground for 350 plant species.
Plan a trip to the garden from November to April and you will be rewarded with an incredible spectacle. Imagine what kind of photos you can take there. Besides, they will remind you of the diverse nature of Africa.
You can not only walk, take pictures and enjoy the amazing scent, but even spend the night among the beautiful plants. Imagine that you wake up, open the tent and... see an endless field of flowers. It will be hard to believe that this is reality, not a dream. Of course, no one will let you sit in the field, but there are special campsites for tourists.
You can wander forever through the bright and fragrant meadows of the park. Or you can look at all this beauty from a height. Climb higher. The park has excellent conditions for climbers.
