If you are traveling through the Argentinean province of La Rioja or near it, you need to spend one day to visit Talampaya National Park. Yes, this popular tourist route takes at least one day. Talampaya Park is a separate reserved area of about 2 square kilometers. And adjacent to it is an interesting place - Ischigualasto Natural Park, or Moon Valley. So, you can admire two sights of Argentina at once.

Let’s find out more about Talampaya Park. A few words about its rewards: it is a national park, and since 2000, this reserve has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Speaking of impressions, you should be ready to admire every minute and walk with your mouth open throughout your trip, because Talampaya staggers the imagination. No one remains indifferent here. If you forget for a moment that you are in Argentina, you might think that you were magically transported to Mars. Red-brown steep rocks with drawings of Aborigines give the travelers this idea.

Inside Talampaya, there is even a “settlement” formed by the nature power, which is called “Lost City”. Looking at it, you start thinking about the interfering of higher power because this natural formation amazes so much. In addition to this wonder of nature, the remains of ancient dwellings and cemeteries were also found here.

Talampaya Canyon is another amazing sight in the park. Its walls are 140 meters high and 80 meters wide, and that is its narrowest point! The canyon includes a botanical garden where you can see local endemics: various shrubs and cacti. And how many interesting animals and birds live here! Guanaco, Patagonian hares, gray foxes, and even the largest bird in the Western Hemisphere - the Andorran condor.

In general, the Talampaya park impresses not only with its similarity to the Martian landscape. It creates an impression that this is a marvelous decor for an adventure film.
