"We need a chip, a highlight, a bait!" - this is probably what the Tijuana authorities and architects thought when discussing the project of a new cultural center.
The surprise was definitely a success! Do you want to visit a broken egg? The Tijuana Cultural Center is similar to this food! It was built in the form of a ball made of beige stone. There are other buildings nearby that look like shells.
Tijuana is located on the border with the United States of America. This city is even called the Gateway to Mexico. One of Tijuana's goals is to lure tourists from America: to show and to tell about Mexico. And since this is the first city that foreigners meet, it should be impressive. And the egg ... the cultural center is just as impressive.
It is believed that the ball is the ideal shape. In terms of convenience for tourists, this is just the perfect option. A lot of interesting things are hidden under the roof of this round building. There are many museums, including the Museum of the Californias and the wax museum, galleries, exhibitions, and a huge movie theater! There was definitely some Mexican magic! How else could it all fit?
Every day, the Tijuana Cultural Center hosts masterclasses in singing, dancing, drawing, and acting. Sign up for a couple of classes, you will not regret it! The center is also intended for children. Special mini-groups are open for children to entertain and teach them new things.
Scientific conferences, lectures, and seminars are also held there. And if you want to listen to music and go to a rock band concert, then go outside.
There is a huge esplanade around the center that can accommodate up to six thousand people. Every evening there is a festival, an exhibition, and a concert. Everyone is dancing and having fun. You can come there during the day: take something refreshing, such as ice cream, and sit in the sun. Or go to the bookstore, which is also part of the center, and buy a souvenir.
In the Tijuana Cultural Center, both the form and the content are impressive.
