Despite the fact that the Norwegian town of Odda received its status only in 2004, in the 19th century, its picturesque surroundings were chosen by the German Emperor Wilhelm II. He regularly visited these lands, each time enjoying the pristine Northern nature of the fabulous Storfjorden. However, people are still coming here to see one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Norway – Låtefossen Waterfall. It is one of the main tourist attractions in the country. Two powerful streams rush down from a height of 165 meters and seem to dive under a stone arched bridge of the 19th century, skirting the sharp gray rocks covered with greenery, so that at the very foot they unite into a single even more powerful stream and fall into a mountain river. The Emperor came here to see the fantastic view. Today, it attracts thousands of tourists. Only the beauty of the world-famous waterfall remains unchanged. Each time it strikes a new traveler at the heart. This place is literally shrouded in a white haze which creates a fabulous mysterious atmosphere of the times of mythical trolls. According to one source, the divided Låtefossen Waterfall is not divided at all. It just consists of two separate waterfalls which are Starcrossed and Låtefossen. As time passed by people forgot the name of Starcrossed and began to call both streams the same name. Others argue that the waterfall is still one: these two delightful «braids» appeared thanks to the granite stone that has long divided the powerful cascading waterfall into two separate streams. Yes, this is not so important. The main thing is how beautiful its waters are. Its beauty is exactly what makes curious tourists not afraid of getting wet to the skin in search of the best photo. Its waters quickly rush down into the gorge leaving only a cloud of white dense smoke and drops of water on the lenses of expensive cameras. However, the waterfall looks best in the rays of the setting sun, illuminating its running waters with hundreds of different shades of nature itself.
